Tuesday Already?

I honestly don't know where the weekend went. Friday arrived with glee as the prospect of wonderful creations via Holly Homemaker flooded my brain. The excitement dissipated shortly after waking up on Saturday and has yet to return. Sunday felt very odd being a holiday and not spent with family, surrounding a barbecue, or revolving around fireworks. With original plans to celebrate the 4th of July in downtown Knoxville at the World's Fair park quickly shot down with feeling incredibly ill, my holiday weekend quickly went kaput.

In a determination to resolve this funk, I went to the nearest Walmart at 7am Monday morning and purchased my very own vacuum. Yes, a vacuum. Cleaning was on my "to-do" list and could not be fully completed without the use of a suction device to successfully remove my 8-legged unwelcome roommates. By the end of the day, my "to-do" list became obsolete but my funk was still present. In all, yesterday I finished the bathroom curtains (but still have yet to obtain the tension rods), cooked a whole chicken in the crockpot, sliced/diced/shredded zucchini for blanching and freezing, roasted zucchini and yellow squash to accompany my crockpot chicken with dinner, started the quilt-top for my new bed spread (of course it will match my curtains and pillow cases), completed three loads of laundry courtesy of the washer and dryer at my housesitting house, vacuumed my apartment for the first time since moving in, finally got rid of all the extra boxes and trash that has lingered since the move-in, and hung out with my temporary dogs/cat/duck/sunflower. Hooray for me and the physical successes I have achieved, but woe is my mental stumble that hinders more praiseworthy thoughts.

And thus the work week begins again and another weekend looms ahead. Will progress be met or will it be warded off as was this past weekend? Will the questions I continue to ponder plague me still when morning comes or will peace bestow my digressive thoughts?
